[Remote] Senior Oracle Database Administrator

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Veracity Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with PL/SQL development expertise to support mission-critical systems within a secure, cloud-enabled environment. The role involves maintaining and modernizing Oracle database environments, focusing on database architecture, performance optimization, and advanced data solutions for enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle databases in production and non-production environments
• Design, develop, and optimize PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and triggers
• Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies
• Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
• Support database deployments, Critical Patch Updates (CPUs), and upgrades
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with federal standards
• Collaborate with developers, system engineers, and stakeholders on data solutions
• Troubleshoot complex database issues and provide root cause analysis
• Support API integrations and data pipelines (RESTful services, ETL processes)
• Maintain database documentation, data models, and data dictionaries

Skills

• 8+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA
• Advanced proficiency in PL/SQL development and performance tuning
• Strong experience with Oracle 12c/19c (or later)
• Experience with RMAN, Data Guard, and Oracle Enterprise Manager
• Solid understanding of database security, roles, and access controls
• Experience supporting high-availability and mission-critical systems
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Experience with Oracle Cloud (OCI) or AWS RDS for Oracle
• Knowledge of REST APIs and integration with backend systems
• Experience with data modeling and ERD development
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation
• Experience in federal or regulated environments (FAA, DoD, etc.)
• Understanding of Zero Trust architecture and cybersecurity frameworks
• Experience with Spring Boot or Java-based data services
• Exposure to data analytics or AI/ML pipelines
• Familiarity with Postman or API testing tools (or FAA-approved equivalents)
• Cold Fusion
• Oracle APEX
