[Remote] Director of Finance

Haydon Corporation is a forward-thinking company in the manufacturing industry, seeking a Director of Finance to lead their financial operations. The role involves managing finance and accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and driving continuous improvement in financial processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all day-to-day Finance and Accounting operations, including general accounting, treasury, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements and reporting
- Manage cash flow forecasting, working capital reporting, banking activities, and liquidity planning
- Oversee cost accounting processes, inventory valuation, standard costing, and manufacturing variance analysis across a multi-site manufacturing environment
- Support the annual operating plan (AOP), quarterly forecasting processes, and monthly financial performance reviews
- Develop, improve, and maintain financial reporting, KPI reporting, and operational analysis to support decision-making across the business
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, reporting accuracy, internal controls, and overall Finance function efficiency
- Partner closely with operations, procurement, supply chain, and commercial leadership teams to improve cost visibility, margin performance, and operational discipline
- Lead external audit coordination, tax support activities, and compliance-related financial processes
- Oversee ERP financial processes and support continued optimization of SAP reporting and workflows
- Develop and mentor Finance team members while building scalable organizational capability within the Finance function
- Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Support capital investment analysis, inventory management initiatives, and operational improvement projects as needed
Skills
- Minimum of 8–10 years of progressively increasing Finance and Accounting leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong background in manufacturing accounting, cost accounting, inventory management, standard costing, and operational finance
- Experience leading monthly close processes, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury activities, and audit coordination
- Strong SAP experience within a manufacturing environment is required, including hands-on experience with financial reporting, costing, inventory accounting, and operational finance processes
- Strong understanding of internal controls, process improvement, and financial discipline within a growing organization
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, improve processes, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across operations, supply chain, commercial, and leadership teams
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or related field required
- Multi-site manufacturing experience strongly preferred
- MBA preferred
