Quality Assurance Engineer - Software Quality
MBDA is a leading defence organisation committed to supporting the Armed Forces. The role involves improving quality assurance skills by collaborating with the wider Quality Assurance community and assisting software teams in missile programs to ensure high-quality weapon systems.
Responsibilities
- Maintain software quality by following procedures and guidelines
- Assist UK Engineering Directorate's software teams in missile programs
- Lead Project Quality Assessments, identify risks and critical issues and provide recommendations to monthly reports
- Build strong relationships with colleagues across all programmes
- Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing
- Remain calm under pressure and cope well with unexpected changes
- Work independently as part of a functional and integrated team
Skills
- Experience in software development, full life cycle, and quality assurance; applicants from a diverse set of backgrounds and industries are encouraged
- Knowledge of software processes including national and international standards and assurance requirements
- Auditing experience would be advantageous
- Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues across all programmes
- Collaborative but objective approach with an ability to influence change when required
- Ability to lead Project Quality Assessments, identify risks and critical issues and provide recommendations to monthly reports
- Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing
- Remain calm under pressure and cope well with unexpected changes
- Work independently as part of a functional and integrated team
- Ideally have an Engineering Degree or equivalent experience, with an understanding of new and appropriate technologies or proven experience
- Experience or knowledge of configuration management, documentation and requirements management systems is highly beneficial
