Jr Spectrum Engineer
Science and Technology Corporation (STC) provides scientific, engineering, and technical services to U.S. Government and industry partners. They are seeking a Jr Spectrum Engineer to track and report RF spectrum regulatory actions, establish technical rules for spectrum sharing, and assist in evaluating new rulemaking procedures.
Responsibilities
- The candidate will be responsible for tracking, assessing, and reporting any RF spectrum regulatory actions related to Federal agencies (NOAA, DoD, DoC, NASA)
- Participate and establish technical rules and procedures for spectrum sharing & spectrum coordination with federal agencies and international administrations
- Assist regulatory and policy team in evaluating and conducting analysis on new rulemaking procedures and submissions
- Conduct Matlab analysis
- Establish technical parameters and standards governing the use of each frequency band or specific service, if applicable
- Knowledge of FCC rules, procedures, and rule-making processes
Skills
- Demonstrated ability to perform complex engineering analysis
- Ability to use RF engineering tools
- Possess excellent written & communications skills in English
- Should be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Data & Visualization: Python (pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib), SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI
- Languages: Python, R, C++, Java, MATLAB, JavaScript/HTML/CSS
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (or related field) and a minimum of 1-2 years of direct engineering experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in satellite & cellular telecommunications' industry
- 1+ years of experience in RF spectrum management engineering
- Requires U.S. Citizenship
- Knowledge of FCC rules, procedures, and rule-making processes
