Technologist – Land Development & Municipal Engineering

As a Technologist in Land Development & Municipal Engineering, you will support multidisciplinary engineering teams in delivering infrastructure projects that enhance community living and connectivity in Sudbury.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate and detailed AutoCAD Civil 3D drawings and 3D models for municipal and land development projects
• Prepare technical specifications, quantity summaries, and cost estimates for tender and construction
• Complete field inspections to verify design intent, quality, and construction progress
• Perform topographic surveys using up‑to‑date field equipment
• Collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and technologists to ensure project alignment
• Interpret engineering drawings, standards, and municipal requirements with support from experienced team members
• Assist with proposals, contract administration, and project documentation as needed
• Contribute to multidisciplinary project coordination that supports public and private sector clients

Skills

• Completion of a three‑year Civil Engineering Technology diploma (or equivalent)
• Eligibility or interest in pursuing the Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation
• 0–5 years of experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D in municipal or land development design
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical requirements
• Interest in developing knowledge of OPSS/OPSD and municipal engineering practices
• Curiosity and adaptability in both office and field environments
• Valid Ontario driver's licence
