[Remote] Network Security Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Fusion Solutions, LLC is seeking a Network Security Engineer to support a multi-billion dollar enterprise client in a remote capacity. The role involves ensuring the security of systems and networks, training employees on security policies, and coordinating with other departments to meet security requirements.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the security of all systems and networks
- Detecting and preventing attacks that may originate from either inside or outside the company
- Ensuring employees are kept abreast of current security threats
- Training employees on security policies and procedures
- Reviewing and suggesting new security measures aimed at keeping pace with security threats
- Working with teammates who handle the same technologies and similar responsibilities – formulating the best course of action
- Coordinating with other departments to ensure new technologies and projects being implemented meet our security requirements
- Supporting/maintaining existing security solutions/software
- Communicating with, coordinating and updating the Security Operations team (e.g. daily activities/requirements/responsibilities, etc.)
- Tracking of security project tasks, including but not limited to, security controls development and implementation, security testing and remediation, compliance tracking, and documentation for management and auditing activities
- Intrusion Prevention system (IPS) solution
- Web Security platform
- Email Security solutions
- Web Application Firewall (WAF)
- Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA)
- Firewall policies and changes
- Security information and event management (SIEM) solution
- Endpoint Security solutions
- Incident Response
- Assisting in selecting, implementing, and auditing security controls, contingency plan, configuration management, etc. based on guidance documents such as NIST, ISO, etc
- Performing security assessment and risk analysis including log auditing and vulnerability scanning
Skills
- BS degree in Computer Science, MIS or Information Technology with a focus on Information Security; or equivalent experience
- 5 or more years' experience working in an enterprise-level (large public company) or federal government NIST-related environment
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- 2-5 years security tools and technology experience required, preferably with 3-4 of the below technologies/tools: Palo Alto Networks: network firewalls (Strata), cloud security (Prisma), and security operations (Cortex), Microsoft Security: Defender (endpoint), Sentinel (SIEM), and Entra (identity), CrowdStrike Falcon: EDR, identity protection, and threat intelligence, Fortinet Security Fabric: networking and security (SD-WAN and SASE), Cisco Security: Hypershield architecture, IBM Security: QRadar SIEM platform and Guardium for data security, Check Point Infinity: AI-driven ThreatCloud AI engines, SentinelOne Singularity: Remediate threats without human intervention, Wiz: cloud security platform, agentless Cloud-Native Application Protection (CNAPP)
- Any security related certifications: CompTIA Security +, CISM, GSEC, CISSP or working towards CISSP (is preferable)
- Additional security tools and technology experience would be a plus, but not required
- Ability to travel (rarely) on an as-needed basis
