[Remote] Sr. Software Engineer (Backend Development - System I&T Specialty)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Lockheed Martin is a leader in aerospace and defense, seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the CommandIQ® team. This role involves designing, implementing, and testing software features for mission-critical Battle Management and Command & Control capabilities, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Decompose higher-level roadmap features into actionable work items
• Design, Implement, and integrate/test software features
• Perform peer reviews for fellow software engineers and debug issues as they arise
• Participate in technical discussions to define/solve overarching software architecture needs
• Collaborate with cross-functional peers to better understand project requirements and customer/stakeholder needs

Skills

• Experience/Familiarity with the following: Rust (or C), Python, Java
• Backend containerization experience using Docker
• Framework development experience using gRPC
• Experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Experience with system-of-system software integration
• Experience integrating and managing automated test suite into Gitlab CI/CD pipeline
• 3+ years of relevant work experience (Advanced Degree may be substituted for 2 years of experience)
• Active Secret Clearance
• Experience in Agile Methodologies & Tools
• Experience with container management using Kubernetes/Helm
• Experience in a Full-Stack engineering role
• Previous software scripting experience in Java/Python and automation framework experience (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright)
• Development experience following REST guidelines
• Previous IRAD experience
