[Remote] Actuarial Analyst
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Health Net Health Plan of Oregon, Inc. is a part of Centene, a diversified organization transforming the health of communities. They are seeking Actuarial Analysts to assist in financial analysis, pricing, and risk assessment, while also developing and analyzing complex financial reports related to healthcare services.
Responsibilities
- Develop and analyze complex financial and statistical reports related to quality, cost and effectiveness of healthcare services
- Prepare budget and forecast and analyze financial results related to expectations
- Assist in financial analysis, pricing and risk assessment to estimate outcomes
- Apply knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, principles of finance and business to calculate financial outcomes
- Assist with developing probability tables based on analysis of statistical data and other pertinent information
- Analyze and evaluate required premium rates
- Assess cash reserves and liabilities enable payment of future benefits
- Assist with determining the equitable basis for distributing money for insurance benefits
- Participate in merger and acquisition analysis
- Additional responsibilities may vary per actuarial team
Skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- One passed actuarial exam - REQUIRED
- 0-3 years of actuarial experience
- Significant Excel experience
- Some coding exposure (SQL, SAS, Python and/or R)
- Ability to develop and analyze complex financial and statistical reports related to quality, cost and effectiveness of healthcare services
- Ability to prepare budget and forecast and analyze financial results related to expectations
- Ability to assist in financial analysis, pricing and risk assessment to estimate outcomes
- Knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, principles of finance and business to calculate financial outcomes
- Ability to assist with developing probability tables based on analysis of statistical data and other pertinent information
- Ability to analyze and evaluate required premium rates
- Ability to assess cash reserves and liabilities enable payment of future benefits
- Ability to assist with determining the equitable basis for distributing money for insurance benefits
- Ability to participate in merger and acquisition analysis
- Experience with Excel (pivot tables, formulas, indexing, data analysis) and VBA
- Experience with SQL, SAS, Python, or R programming
- A Central Time (CST) remote schedule is preferred
