Human Resources Analyst I - HR Information Systems
ALLETE is an electric utility headquartered in Duluth, Minnesota, committed to a sustainable future for the climate and its customers. They are seeking a Human Resources Analyst I to manage HRIS processes across payroll, benefits, compensation, reporting, and compliance, while collaborating with HR and technology teams to optimize data and streamline processes.
Responsibilities
- Administer and implement human resources information system (HRIS) processes and programs in a variety of areas including payroll, benefits, employment, compensation, and employee relations
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to support the management of timely monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals, budgeting, and payroll related reporting
- Create data reports for internal partners and external entities, while working closely with HR staff and organization leadership to identify reporting needs and streamline processes
- Coordinate with HR and technology teams to plan, install, modify, and test new applications as well as facilitate patches, and updates
- Conduct surveys on human resources programs, policies, and practices, and establish and maintain internal/external relationships
- Create and maintain employment-related records to meet company and regulatory requirements
- Assist employees, retirees and supervisors with questions regarding human resources information systems
- Address employee questions, research HR policies, and leverage technology for efficient resource utilization
- Stay current on HRIS trends, advancements, and exercise independent judgment in problem-solving and communication
Skills
- Bachelor's degree required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to establish and maintain positive working relationships
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Commitment to maintaining data confidentiality
- Degree in management information systems, computer science, computer information systems, human resources, or business analytics preferred
- Course work in human resources management, preferred
- Experience with enterprise software preferred
- No prior experience required
