About arenaflex's Supported Hunt Information Team

The Supported Hunt Information group is the backbone of arenaflex's data infrastructure, responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines, datasets, and ETL processes for our Supported Pursuit Advertising platform. We collaborate across multiple teams within arenaflex to ensure data quality, accessibility, and reliability for analysis and reporting by sponsors using our self-serve platform.

Your Role: Data Engineering Specialist

As a Data Engineering Specialist at arenaflex, you'll be responsible for much more than just data entry. You'll be designing and implementing robust data solutions that power one of the world's largest e-commerce advertising platforms. This full-time position offers flexible scheduling with both night and day shift options, along with the freedom to work remotely from anywhere in the world.

What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and storing massive volumes of data to support advertising on arenaflex.com and its subsidiaries
• Optimize and enhance ETL processes to ensure efficient data processing and pipeline reliability
• Design and implement data models for efficient storage and retrieval of large-scale datasets
• Work with cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud for data storage, processing, and analytics
• Create and deploy large-scale, containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes in public clouds like Google GCP and Microsoft Azure
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including scrum teams, QA, Product, Program Management, and Partner Operations
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations to troubleshoot production issues across cross-functional teams
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy across all systems and platforms
• Monitor and optimize data pipeline performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks
• Develop documentation for data processes, systems, and best practices
• Stay current with emerging data technologies and approaches, evaluating their potential application to arenaflex's environment

What You'll Bring: Essential Qualifications

• Demonstrated aptitude in data engineering concepts, database design, ETL processes, and data mining
• Proficiency in working with data technologies including SQL, Python, Scala, Hadoop, and related technologies and tools
• Experience with ETL tools such as Apache Airflow
• Strong skills working with relational databases (e.g., Azure SQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra)
• Experience with real-time message processing using Apache Kafka
• Experience in designing and implementing data models for efficient storage and retrieval
• A growth-oriented mindset with a willingness to raise the technical bar and identify opportunities for improving existing processes, tools, and systems
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present to both technical and non-technical audiences

• Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes
