[Remote] Junior investment analyst (finance-focused)

The Junior Investment Analyst plays a key role in supporting the AI-driven underwriting and feasibility modeling, involving financial modeling, data interpretation, and research to support acquisitions and strategic investment partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and municipal data providers
• Support communication with investors, developers, and real estate consultants on project and data requirements
• Collect, verify, and analyze property and market data, including zoning, land use, and financial performance metrics
• Develop and maintain dynamic financial models for land acquisition, development, and ROI/IRR evaluation
• Perform due diligence on assets and support the creation of property intelligence reports for clients and investors
• Support preparation of investment memos, feasibility studies, and AI-generated reports for presentation to management and partners
• Conduct ongoing market research, benchmarking, and risk analysis using UnlockLand’s proprietary AI platform
• Collaborate with the product and data science teams to refine the platform’s financial modeling and analytics modules
• Contribute to other ad hoc research, investment, and automation projects as required

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Urban Planning, Economics, or Data Analytics
• Experience in real estate investment, development analysis, or urban economics is an asset
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI, Python, or SQL considered an asset
• Familiarity with financial modeling, discounted cash flow analysis, and sensitivity testing
• Interest in PropTech, AI, and geospatial analytics (GIS tools, zoning databases)
• Highly motivated self-starter with a passion for innovation and smart city development
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
