[Remote] Human Resources Manager
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Walker Lovell is a confidential, heavy manufacturing organisation seeking an experienced HR Manager to join their team in a high-impact role. This position combines operational delivery with strategic support, acting as a key link between senior HR leadership and plant-based HR teams to drive consistency and effectiveness across the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Act as a central HR lead across the region, beyond a purely plant‑focused remit
- Provide leadership, coaching and mentorship to HR team members, including direct and indirect oversight
- Remove operational roadblocks and improve overall HR effectiveness
- Support the implementation, optimisation and ongoing improvement of HR systems and processes
- Operate in a visible, hands‑on capacity with a strong “boots on the ground” mindset
- Partner closely with senior stakeholders to provide both operational support and strategic HR input
Skills
- Proven HR leadership experience with strong people management and coaching capability
- A hands-on, pragmatic approach and the ability to operate in lean environments
- Broad HR generalist experience (rather than a highly specialised background)
- Experience within SME or mid-sized organisations, ideally where HR functions have been built or scaled
- A problem-solving mindset, with the ability to improve outcomes rather than operate transactionally
- Exposure to private equity–backed environments
- HRIS experience (Paycom currently used, though system-specific experience is not required)
- Some compensation and benefits exposure
- Manufacturing or distribution experience (helpful but not essential)
- International exposure, particularly UK experience; Canada exposure is a bonus
