[Remote] OEM Business Development Executive
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Tethered Talent is working with a well-established U.S.-based medical device manufacturer to find a Business Development Executive for their OEM segment. This role involves identifying and winning new R&D programs within a global OEM account, engaging early in the product development lifecycle to drive custom-engineered solution adoption.
Responsibilities
- Hunt and develop new business opportunities within a strategic global OEM account — engaging Product Management, R&D, Engineering, Quality, and Executive Sourcing
- Analyze the OEM’s market investments and R&D pipeline to build a forward-looking account strategy
- Engage early in the development cycle to capture User Needs and technical requirements
- Drive alignment on design concepts and lead toward Design Freeze milestones
- Coordinate Verification & Validation (V&V) activities and serve as the liaison between the customer and internal engineering teams
- Manage the New Product Introduction (NPI) process from prototype through production ramp-up
- Maintain CRM discipline — tracking pipeline, activities, and opportunities with accuracy and consistency
- Partner with marketing and market development on targeted outreach and lead generation
Skills
- 7+ years of business development, technical sales, or OEM account management experience in medical devices or regulated manufacturing
- Proven success managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles with long development timelines
- Strong understanding of medical product development processes: User Needs, design control, NPI, and V&V workflows
- Familiarity with FDA/ISO regulatory environments
- Technical aptitude — ability to read engineering drawings, requirements documents, and test protocols
- Self-starter with a hunter mentality and the discipline to build and manage a structured pipeline
- Experience selling custom-engineered or specialty components into large medtech OEMs
- Existing relationships within major OEM organizations (Product Management, Sourcing, R&D)
- Experience with CRM platforms (Dynamics preferred)
- Background in imaging, diagnostics, or capital equipment supply chains
