Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a Data Engineer to support the F-35 JPO Sustainment leadership in advancing the program’s Fleet Readiness and Sustainment data modernization initiatives. The role focuses on developing and optimizing data pipelines, backend models, and structured datasets for enterprise sustainment analytics and dashboarding.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain structured data models supporting sustainment analytics and dashboard requirements
• Build and maintain automated ETL workflows using AWS GovCloud services (S3, Glue, Lambda, Athena)
• Apply IL5 cloud controls, NIST 800-53 security requirements, and Zero Trust principles
• Integrate REST APIs to ingest data from multiple government systems
• Apply unit testing and validation techniques to ensure data quality

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Hands on ETL development using Python and SQL
• Experience with AWS services in secure cloud environments
• Experience integrating REST APIs
• Familiarity with GitLab and JIRA
• An active Secret security clearance or higher (at the application and consideration)
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation quality
• Ability to operate independently while managing multiple priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Skilled at cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement
• Proactive problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify gaps and propose actionable solutions
• Adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, audit-driven environment
• Experience with F-35 sustainment data systems
• Experience supporting FIAR aligned processes
• AWS or Azure certifications
• Experience with IL5 cloud controls, NIST 800-53, and Zero Trust
• Knowledge of aviation maintenance or depot sustainment workflows
• 3-6 years of direct data engineer experience
