[Remote] Data Governance & Metadata Scientist
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Data Governance & Metadata Scientist to support USSOUTHCOM J26 ENHANCED DOMAIN AWARENESS task order. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining data governance frameworks to ensure metadata consistency, lineage tracking, and interoperability between Data Lake, ESRI Kubernetes environments, and external data sources.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain data governance frameworks
- Ensure metadata consistency, lineage tracking, and interoperability between Data Lake, ESRI Kubernetes environments, and external data sources
- Manage metadata, data lineage tracking (Unity Catalog/OpenLineage), schema alignment, and governance best practices
- Apply expertise in geospatial data standards, data cataloging, and compliance with DoD metadata policies
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Management, GIS, or a related field OR a minimum of 5 years of equivalent experience in data governance, metadata management, or geospatial data integration
- Demonstrated experience implementing metadata governance frameworks for structured and unstructured data in cloud-based environments
- Experience tracking data lineage and ensuring metadata synchronization across a Data Catalog, ESRI Kubernetes, and enterprise metadata repositories
- Proficiency utilizing OpenLineage, Apache Atlas, or similar tools for metadata and data lineage management
- Ability to enforce compliance with DoD metadata policies and NSG tradecraft standards for geospatial datasets
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
- DAMA Certified Data Governance Professional (DGSP)
- ESRI Geospatial Data Management Certification
