[Remote] Technical Writer, Manager

They are seeking a Technical Writer Manager to supervise and coordinate the Technical Writing team’s projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and project requirements while enhancing team effectiveness and communication with leadership.
Responsibilities
- Function as a supervisor, coordinating team members and projects to ensure alignment with organizational objectives, timelines, and quality standards
- Analyze project forecasts and track variances to optimize resource allocation, making strategic adjustments as needed to support project goals
- Plan, prioritize, and assign tasks to team members, collaborating closely to monitor project progress and resolve challenges
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration by working with stakeholders across departments to gather information, clarify requirements, and address project needs effectively
- Provide insights and strategic recommendations to improve team processes, enhance workflow efficiency, and support continuous improvement in documentation quality
- Administer and maintain documentation tools, ensuring that resources are readily available and well-organized to support efficient project execution
- Support team development by providing mentorship and task guidance, fostering skill growth, and ensuring adherence to best practices
- Track and report on project metrics, progress, and outcomes, delivering valuable insights to inform decision-making and strategic planning
- Troubleshoot issues as they arise, identifying root causes and coordinating corrective actions to maintain project momentum and meet deadlines
- Uphold a high standard of quality in all deliverables, reviewing documentation to ensure consistency with established standards and accessibility requirements
Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in English, Technical and Professional Communication, Journalism, or a related business field OR will consider years of experience in lieu of a degree
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant technical or medical writing experience
- Proven experience leading documentation efforts for information technology teams, technical staff, or similar groups, or demonstrated success managing teams and guiding complex projects in a related field
- Experience in large, complex organizations, including centralized or matrixed team environments
- Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Adaptability, flexibility, and keen attention to detail are critical
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with a wide range of technical and non-technical staff, accept constructive feedback on drafts, and manage tasks under tight deadlines
- Self-motivated, with strong time management skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities effectively
- This is a remote position that requires the ability to effectively manage and collaborate across multiple time zones, including regular interaction with teams based in India
- Experience in the healthcare industry
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Word, Excel, and Visio) and proficiency with documentation and publishing tools
- Strong understanding of WCAG accessibility standards to promote accessible content creation
- Demonstrated technical understanding with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts in accessible, business-oriented language
- This role involves handling sensitive materials and requires a high level of confidentiality
