[Remote] Software Engineer, Full Stack

They are seeking a Software Engineer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs in modernizing their eligibility and enrollment systems, which will benefit millions of Veterans and their families.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partners to ship new systems and features
  • Maintain legacy systems
  • Follow and influence standards for clean, maintainable, efficient code and processes
  • Conduct design and code reviews to ensure the quality of the codebase
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex software issues
  • Assist with pitches and proposals to prospective clients, showcasing MO’s technical capabilities and solutions

Skills

  • 2-5 years experience as an engineering professional
  • Implement complex software, scope projects, and lead productive code and design reviews
  • Experience with technologies such as TypeScript, Next.js, Java 17+, Spring Boot, AWS, Bash, Github Actions, test automation, and relational databases
  • Experience with accessibility, privacy, security, monitoring, and writing software that handles PII
  • Ability to lead and mentor more junior engineers with empathy and support for their skills growth
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • VA experience preferred
