[Remote] Volunteer Documentary Story Editor (Social Media)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Aterspace is seeking a Volunteer Documentary Content Editor to help translate documentary material into engaging short-form social media stories. This role focuses on using storytelling to foster empathy for the natural world, particularly in relation to urban wildlife and gardens.

Responsibilities

• Research and brainstorm story ideas from field material
• Review photos, clips, and observations to identify strong narrative moments
• Decide what stories are meaningful and worth sharing
• Shape raw material into clear, engaging story posts
• Write short captions in a natural, documentary-style voice
• Help develop how stories are framed to inspire empathy and awareness of the natural world

Skills

• Research and brainstorm story ideas from field material
• Review photos, clips, and observations to identify strong narrative moments
• Decide what stories are meaningful and worth sharing
• Shape raw material into clear, engaging story posts
• Write short captions in a natural, documentary-style voice

• Someone experienced with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, etc.)
• Comfortable making editorial decisions about what stories matter
• Strong visual and narrative instincts
• Interested in nature, animals, or documentary-style media
• Ideally with experience in film, media, or storytelling
• Based in Pasadena or nearby
