[Remote] Health Data Interoperability Engineer

They are seeking a skilled Health Data Interoperability Engineer to build a next-generation health data interoperability platform on Databricks for a healthcare client.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement FHIR mapping and transformation pipelines on Databricks
• Build connectivity into health information exchanges (HIEs)
• Develop solution architecture for scalable health data interoperability
• Work within a medallion lakehouse architecture (bronze/silver/gold)
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and PHI/PII requirements

Skills

• Hands-on experience with FHIR R4 or STU3 — mapping, transformation, and validation
• HIE integration experience — connecting to and extracting data from HIE networks
• Databricks proficiency — Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and/or Databricks Workflows
• Familiarity with healthcare integration platforms (Redox, Mirth Connect, Azure FHIR API, or similar)
• Understanding of HL7 and clinical data models (OMOP, USCDI)
• Experience in AWS-based environments
• Design and implement FHIR mapping and transformation pipelines on Databricks
• Build connectivity into health information exchanges (HIEs)
• Develop solution architecture for scalable health data interoperability
• Work within a medallion lakehouse architecture (bronze/silver/gold)
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and PHI/PII requirements
• Federal health or CMS-adjacent program experience
• FedRAMP Moderate/High compliance background
• Predictive analytics or ML on clinical datasets
