[Remote] DevOps Cloud Security Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. SRM Digital LLC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevOps Cloud Security Engineer to join their team. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining secure cloud infrastructure while collaborating with various teams to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure cloud infrastructure and network security controls within Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Configure and manage GCP security services including VPC Service Controls (VPC-SC), Cloud Armor, and Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW) with IDS/IPS capabilities
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, including reusable modules and enterprise-scale deployments
• Build, enhance, and support CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps Pipelines and GitHub Actions
• Automate cloud operations, security controls, monitoring, and incident response processes through scripting and tooling
• Collaborate with security, networking, and platform engineering teams to implement cloud security best practices and governance standards
• Perform security assessments, vulnerability remediation, and risk mitigation across cloud environments
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex cloud infrastructure and security incidents
• Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and runbooks
• Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and provide operational support to ensure successful adoption of cloud security solutions
• Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to cloud security posture, automation frameworks, and deployment processes

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Cloud Security Engineer
• 3+ years of hands-on experience implementing and managing GCP network security services
• Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Strong experience with VPC Service Controls (VPC-SC)
• Strong experience with Cloud Armor
• Strong experience with Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW)
• Strong experience with Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS)
• Strong experience with Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS)
• Advanced expertise in Terraform, including reusable module development, state management, and enterprise deployment practices
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps Pipelines and GitHub Actions
• Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell
• Experience with cloud networking, security architecture, and infrastructure automation
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
