[Remote] 61649:Advisor-Accounting

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. FedEx Freight is responsible for providing high-quality logistics services, and they are seeking an Advisor-Accounting to support complex accounting activities. The role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with internal controls and GAAP, while leading initiatives for process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for highly complex accounting activities supporting the accurate and timely close of the general ledger
• Prepares and post journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed asset processing, lease/contract review, accrual entries, and/or budget variance reviews
• Researches and analysis of assigned large elements of revenue and expense and the related internal/external reporting
• Ensures general ledger account balances are materially correct in compliance with internal controls and GAAP and that Internal control risks are tested and documented in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley
• Leads internal and cross functional teams on major initiatives/projects including: process improvement, regulatory compliance/changes and policy recommending innovative solutions. Coaches, reviews and delegates work to lower level professionals
• Complies with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned

Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or other related quantitative discipline is required. Related experience may offset degree requirements and related education/degree may offset experience requirements
• Five (5) years experience in accounting and financial reporting
• Excellent analytical and financial analysis skills required
• Outstanding knowledge of business software, spreadsheet applications and/or mainframe or web-based applications
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills including presentation skills
