[Remote] Junior Technical Sales Engineer - Industrial Steel Racking

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Interlake Mecalux, Inc. is hiring a Junior Technical Sales Engineer to join their team in Melrose Park, IL. This role involves extensive training on storage rack products, preparing quotations, performing structural analysis, and eventually transitioning into an outside sales representative position.

Responsibilities

• Spend 4 to 8 months working in Melrose Park, IL headquarters for extensive technical, product, processes, and sales training
• Prepare quotations and installation drawings for storage rack projects
• Perform structural analysis and design to meet customer specifications and a variety of codes
• Create bills of material for proposals and orders
• Interact extensively with sales personnel and project managers in the beginning and eventually interact with customers, dealers, and distributors later in the training period. Go on ride-alongs with existing sales personnel to shadow and control responsibilities
• Work in the company’s CRM to evaluate and assist on leads, follow up on leads and quotes assigned to existing sales personnel, and review customer information to provide continuous improvement ideas to the Director of Sales
• Assist with maintaining existing customer accounts as required
• Travel in furtherance of responsibilities

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Strong desire to work in Industrial Sales and develop a long-term career in outside sales
• A customer-focused and results-oriented attitude with excellent presentation skills and the confidence to interact with customers at all levels
• Must be willing to live within 1 hour (driving distance) of a major U.S. city
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume, ever-changing environment
• Must have an excellent driving record and own a car
