Hadron Energy, Inc. specializes in Micro Modular Reactor development and is seeking a Component Analysis Engineer to support the design and analysis of their microreactor technology. The role focuses on the structural and thermal-hydraulic validation of reactor components, ensuring adherence to nuclear codes and high-fidelity modeling.
Responsibilities
- Develop system-level models to characterize thermal, seismic, and other design loading conditions to establish the structural design basis for component analysis
- Perform various analyses including stress, fatigue, buckling, seismic, and vibration of reactor components using classical tools like Mathcad and finite element analysis (FEA) software like ANSYS
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to perform static and dynamic analysis using both linear and non-linear approaches
- Work with interdisciplinary teams to establish and optimize nuclear component designs consistent with required functional and safety requirements
- Prepare and review documentation of analysis results and design solutions
- Support the development of required inputs and methodologies to establish structural sizing and design basis loads for reactor components and interfaces
- Perform rigorous peer reviews to maintain quality standards per the engineering procedures
- Assist management with technical planning, strategy, and acting as a technical point of contact for component analysis tasks
- Mentor junior engineers and team members to build a highly skilled and confident analysis team
