[Remote] Principal Consultant - Federal Edge
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Oracle Health is seeking a highly experienced, client-facing Principal Consultant with deep expertise in Oracle (Cerner) Millennium and custom development to join our Federal Edge & Analytics team. You will lead the design, troubleshooting, enhancement, and support of Millennium custom solutions to solve real customer clinical and operational problems.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior consultant for federal customers, owning the delivery of Millennium custom development work across Millennium applications (PowerChart/FirstNet/Revenue Cycle, PharmNet, DA2, etc.) from intake through implementation and sustainment
- Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of custom scripts, rules, reports, and utilities; document findings, recommend options, and execute fixes
- Partner with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to clarify requirements and workflow objectives, translate those needs into technically sound designs, document decisions and secure stakeholder approvals prior to build/deployment
- Design, develop, enhance, and support custom solutions using CCL, Discern Rules, MPages, DA2 reporting (and other programming languages/analytics as appropriate)
- Perform code reviews, participate in design reviews, and drive improvements to code quality and team efficiency
- Build and execute unit, system and integration test plans
- Follow all applicable internal and customer-required change management processes and take end-to-end responsibility for validating your changes (pre-implementation testing and post-deployment verification)
- Identify and resolve performance/scalability issues; improve resiliency and operational health of supported solutions
- Work within an agile delivery approach (planning, estimation, execution, and transparent status reporting)
- On-Call / Incident Response & Release Support: Serve in a rotating on-call incident response rotation with the team, including triage, troubleshooting, coordination, and communication through resolution. Provide heightened support following deployments (for changes/releases the consultant implements) to ensure stability and to rapidly remediate any critical production issues post go-live
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Management Information Systems (MIS), a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
- 5+ years of experience as a CCL Developer
- 5+ years of consulting (client-facing) experience, including requirements leadership and stakeholder management
- Strong understanding of the Millennium data model
- Demonstrated experience across multiple Millennium products and custom development technologies
- Proven ability to operate independently, manage multiple priorities, and communicate clearly in written and verbal formats
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- US Citizenship required and ability to obtain a favorable security clearance (federal contract requirement)
- Experience with DA2, Oracle Health Data Intelligence (formerly HealtheIntent), and/or Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC); ability to develop reports/utilities in analytics platforms
- Familiarity with Oracle SQL, Oracle APEX, Python, HTML/JavaScript (useful for utilities, data workflows, or MPages)
- Experience working in an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environment
- Experience implementing Oracle Cerner products across multiple customers and/or supporting federal government customers
