Instructional Systems Designer, Junior
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a motivated Junior Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) to support the design and development of Computer-Assisted Instruction (CAI) and Interactive Courseware (ICW) for P-8A Poseidon Maritime Patrol Aircraft maintainers. This early-career position contributes to training solutions delivered to the U.S. Navy and Australian allies.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and revise CAI and ICW materials
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SME) to gather, analyze, and organize technical content
- Work with Graphic Artists to develop multimedia elements
- Apply instructional design principles and adult learning theory to create effective training materials
- Follow established style guides, standards, and templates to maintain consistency
- Implement feedback from SMEs, QA, and customers to continuously improve courseware
- Collaborate with fellow ISDs and cross-functional team members to meet project deliverables
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, English, or related field
- 0–2 years of experience in instructional design or related content development
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- Basic understanding of learning theories and instructional design models such as ADDIE
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
- Ability to manage and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
