Accounting Operations Specialist

NAVEX is transforming the world by making it safer and more ethical. As an Accounting Operations Specialist, you will support NAVEX's tax compliance and accounting operational processes while collaborating across teams and working with data.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain reports, schedules, tax records, and documentation used in tax compliance and reporting activities
  • Gather, validate, and organize information from multiple systems and teams to facilitate tax filings, reporting, and compliance requirements
  • Manage tax calendars and monitor filing deadlines, payment schedules, and key compliance milestones
  • Partner with colleagues across Finance and other business functions to collect information needed for tax filings, audits, and tax-related initiatives
  • Respond to information requests from tax authorities, auditors, and external advisors by assembling accurate and timely documentation
  • Participate in sales and use tax, VAT, GST, and other transactional tax processes
  • Maintain organized tax records and documentation to support compliance, reporting, and audit readiness
  • Investigate data discrepancies, identify root causes, and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues
  • Recommend and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability within the tax function
  • Contribute to special projects and broader Finance initiatives that support business growth and operational excellence

Skills

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 6+ months of experience in business operations, finance, accounting, compliance, administration, customer support, data management, or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work
  • Ability to work with data, identify inconsistencies, and solve problems independently
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfort learning new systems, processes, and technical concepts
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other business applications
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to partner with colleagues across teams
  • Curiosity, learning agility, and an interest in developing expertise in tax and compliance
