Internal Auditor Job
Armstrong World Industries is a leader in the design and manufacture of innovative architectural applications. They are seeking an Internal Auditor who will support the business by leveraging analytic and auditing tools to deliver assurance and advisory services, including operational reviews and SOX compliance testing.
Responsibilities
- Learn our business and develop your leadership, communication, and analytical skills
- Navigate financial, commercial, and operations processes to execute risk-based engagements
- Collaborate closely with the Manager, Internal Audit, to support various assurance reviews and special projects with increasing ownership for planning, execution, and reporting
- Execute key audit procedures, including obtaining and analyzing data to draw informed opinions
- Leverage leading data analytics tools, including Alteryx and Tableau, to streamline audit testing, test full-populations, and enhance audit quality, insight, and value
- Provide impartial assessments of the business control environment, adding value through clear and actionable insights
- Maintain strong communication and relationships with business management, reinforcing the value-enhancing mission of our department
- Stay current on the latest developments in auditing, accounting, and emerging technologies
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with 1-2 years of experience in auditing and/or public accounting
- A general understanding of accounting, internal control, and auditing concepts, including financial reporting risks and assertions, segregation of duties, and fieldwork performance
- Experience with Alteryx, Tableau or other analytic tools
- A professional and ethical approach with strong critical thinking and issue resolution skills
- Detail orientated with ability to also see broader impacts of business control processes
- The ability to work both collaboratively and independently, maintaining good rapport with company management at all levels
- Solid written and verbal communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and knowledge of ERP solutions (SAP preferred), and audit/SOX applications (AuditBoard or similar)
- CPA, CIA, or Alteryx Core certification preferred (or actively pursuing)
