Accountant
Bessemer Trust is a family office dedicated to providing financial services to ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families. They are seeking an Accountant to manage financial data and assist in preparing various financial statements and reports.
Responsibilities
- Record each client’s personal and investment income and expenses, ensuring reconciliation to monthly bank or broker statements and annual 1099s
- Record alternative investment transactions and reconcile to corresponding K-1s., as needed
- Prepare adjusting and eliminating journal entries for monthly or quarterly consolidations, as needed
- Respond promptly to client information requests, including ad hoc analyses, reporting needs, and issue resolution
- Collaborate effectively with internal other departments (payroll, bill pay, consolidated investment reporting and tax) and clients’ external advisors
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting with 0-2 years of experience in preparing and analyzing financial information
- Proficiency with QuickBooks accounting software, Microsoft Office preferred
- Strong communication skills with a client service orientation and professional demeanor
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple client assignments, prioritize effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to exercise tact, discretion, and sound judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information
- Tax and/or financial reporting experience preferred
