  • Develop and document modified procedures, special instructions, and work instructions for repairs, alterations, inspections, and other maintenance activities not covered by existing manuals.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders to validate design changes and secure necessary approvals.
  • Act as a mentor and technical guide for junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
  • Coordinate multi‑disciplinary project teams, serving as the facilitator for design‑focused initiatives and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of evolving aviation regulations, material specifications, and emerging technologies that affect design responsibilities.
  • Prepare and present technical briefings, design proposals, and status reports to senior leadership and operational partners.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of design experience in an aviation‑related environment, or 2 years of relevant experience without a degree.
  • Current A&P (Airframe & Powerplant) certification or equivalent licensure.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with engineering documentation tools.
  • Strong analytical abilities with a data‑driven decision‑making approach.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of preparing clear technical documentation and delivering concise presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining strong collaboration with internal and external partners.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems.
  • Knowledge of FAA/EASA regulations, ATA 100 standards, and industry best practices for aircraft maintenance design.
  • Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2) or proven project leadership experience.
  • Familiarity with remote collaboration platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Slack, Zoom) and virtual documentation repositories.
  • Ability to develop and maintain design archives, ensuring traceability and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a track record of building effective relationships across diverse functional groups.
