Remote, USA Full-time Posted 2026-06-14

About arenaflex

arenaflex is a leading health‑focused organization dedicated to delivering compassionate, human‑centric care to millions of members across the United States. Our purpose—“Bringing our heart to every moment of your health”—drives a culture where every interaction matters, and every employee is empowered to make a tangible difference in the lives of our members, plan sponsors, and health‑care partners. As the health‑care landscape evolves rapidly, arenaflex remains at the forefront of innovation, blending technology, empathy, and expertise to create convenient, affordable, and personalized health solutions.

Why This Role Matters

Our members rely on arenaflex to navigate complex benefit plans, understand their health options, and receive timely assistance when challenges arise. As a Customer Service Representative, you will be the trusted single point of contact, turning inquiries into meaningful experiences that reinforce our brand promise and deepen member loyalty. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment and who are passionate about helping others achieve better health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary voice for arenaflex members, handling inbound calls from members, plan sponsors, and health‑care providers across the EST time zone (8 am–8 pm EST).
  • Take ownership of each interaction, diagnosing issues, providing accurate information, and guiding members toward appropriate resources or services.
  • Ask probing, open‑ended questions to uncover underlying needs, then anticipate and address unasked questions related to benefit plans, self‑service tools, and wellness programs.
  • Deliver customized, empathetic conversations that build trust, demonstrate genuine care, and create an emotional connection with each member.
  • Educate members on plan details, cost‑of‑care tools, natural alternatives, and other arenaflex‑specific resources that empower them to manage their health proactively.
  • Document every contact, outcome, and follow‑up action in arenaflex’s CRM system, ensuring data integrity and compliance with internal policies.
  • Utilize the customer‑service threshold framework to make informed financial decisions that resolve member concerns efficiently, often without managerial escalation.
  • Provide claim status updates, benefit coverage interpretations, and eligibility explanations, while maintaining a clear, jargon‑free communication style.
  • Process claim referrals, hand‑offs, and escalations for grievances and appeals, coordinating with internal teams to achieve timely resolutions.
  • Initiate outreach and welcome calls to new members, ensuring expectations are met or exceeded from day one.
  • Identify emerging trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for process improvement; collaborate with cross‑functional partners to develop and implement solutions.
  • Partner with other departments to create client‑specific presentations, share best practices, and support special projects that enhance the overall member experience.
  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert (SME) on arenaflex policies, procedures, and system applications, providing technical assistance to peers and leadership as needed.
  • Coach, train, and mentor new call‑center staff, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and high performance.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); additional education or certifications in health‑care, customer service, or related fields are a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in a transaction‑based environment such as a call center or retail setting, with a proven ability to show empathy and compassion.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet service level agreements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, including active listening, clear articulation, and professional email etiquette.
  • Comfortable working a flexible schedule that includes an 8‑hour shift between 8 am and 8 pm EST, and completing a 17‑week training program (8:30 am–5:00 pm).
  • Proficiency with standard office software (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace) and familiarity with CRM or ticketing platforms.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience with health‑care benefit plans, pharmacy benefits, or medical claims processing.
  • Knowledge of health‑care terminology, insurance regulations, and member self‑service portals.
  • Ability to analyze data trends, generate reports, and recommend actionable improvements.
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving skills, with a track record of resolving complex issues independently.
  • Team‑oriented mindset, eager to collaborate across departments and share insights for collective success.
  • Certification in customer service excellence (e.g., CCSP, HDI) or related professional development.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Empathy & Compassion: Genuine concern for members’ health and well‑being.
  • Active Listening: Ability to hear beyond words and understand the full context of a member’s situation.
  • Problem Solving: Quick identification of root causes and delivery of effective solutions.
  • Communication: Clear, concise, and respectful interaction with diverse audiences.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust to evolving policies, technology updates, and shifting member needs.
