Why You'll Love This Role at arenaflex

This position is a vital member of the Engineering Team within arenaflex's Integrated Operations Division, serving as a cornerstone of our technical operations support infrastructure. As a Senior Engineering Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive engineering assistance that ensures the safe maintenance, operation, and continuous improvement of aircraft and related equipment. Beyond technical contributions, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining aircraft and component standards within your designated areas of responsibility.

What sets this opportunity apart is the unique combination of autonomy, collaboration, and impact. You will have the chance to lead projects, mentor fellow engineers, and directly influence the operational integrity of aviation systems that serve millions of passengers worldwide. This is not just a job — it is a chance to be part of something bigger.

What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Engineering Specialist at arenaflex, your day-to-day responsibilities will be both challenging and rewarding. You will:

  • Deliver Training and Knowledge Transfer: Conduct specialized training sessions for technicians and engineers within your area(s) of expertise, ensuring that best practices, technical standards, and updated procedures are disseminated effectively across the organization.
  • Mentor Fellow Engineers: Serve as a trusted guide and resource for other engineers, offering technical advice, professional development support, and constructive feedback that helps elevate the entire team's capabilities.
  • Lead Project Initiatives: Act as a team leader or facilitator in project management or issue resolution scenarios, coordinating cross-functional efforts to achieve timely and effective outcomes.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturers and Regulators: Liaise with aircraft manufacturers, component suppliers, and regulatory authorities as needed, ensuring that all engineering orders and technical directives are properly authenticated in accordance with applicable regulations and arenaflex company manuals.
  • Develop Custom Technical Procedures: Create customized methods and unique instructions for repairs, modifications, inspections, overhauls, and other maintenance activities that are not adequately addressed in existing manuals. Your work will directly contribute to safer, more efficient operations.
  • Maintain Operational Awareness: Stay informed of daily airline operations within your field of responsibility, reviewing day-to-day needs in alignment with corporate and departmental objectives as well as management directives.
  • Investigate and Resolve Technical Issues: Analyze aircraft or component issues that may cause flight delays, cancellations, significant labor or material expenditures, or disruptions in maintenance operations. Determine appropriate corrective actions and implement them swiftly and effectively.
  • Provide On-Demand Engineering Support: Offer engineering assistance as needed to address discrepant conditions affecting aircraft or components, working diligently to restore airworthy status with minimal operational impact.
  • Respond to Cross-Departmental Requests: Answer requests from Maintenance and other operational divisions when technical support is required to facilitate operations or resolve complex issues.
  • Develop Strategic Action Plans: Create comprehensive action plans for fleet, multi-fleet, and component engineering projects, pursuing detailed solutions in alignment with assessed priorities and organizational goals.
  • Coordinate Across Divisions: Collaborate with other operational departments as needed to ensure the effective and efficient execution of engineering orders and technical directives.
  • Author Engineering Documents: Prepare engineering documentation to implement technical orders by providing customized procedures for repairs, modifications, inspections, or other maintenance activities that deliver measurable benefits aligned with corporate and departmental objectives.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging regulations affecting your areas of responsibility, ensuring that all engineering activities remain in full compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Pursue Continuous Professional Growth: Utilize available resources to consistently expand your technical expertise and practical experience. You will also be encouraged to enhance your communication skills, time management capabilities, and other personal attributes relevant to maximum effectiveness in your role.
  • Engage Across All Levels: Actively engage with frontline team members and senior leadership alike, fostering a culture of collaboration, transparency, and mutual respect.
