Tax Staff Accountant

Milbank LLP is a top-tier international law firm seeking a Tax Staff Accountant to support their Tax Department. The role involves preparing tax work papers, estimated tax schedules, and coordinating with Tax Seniors for consistency in tax compliance across global offices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tax work papers for federal, state, and international partnership filings
• Prepare estimated tax payment vouchers for recording by partner into Firm’s accounting software
• Maintain Passthrough Entity Tax (PTET) and composite tax schedules by partner
• Prepare §1446 schedules for non-resident partners
• Coordinate with Tax Seniors and local office staff to ensure consistency of tax work papers globally
• Prepare and file jurisdiction-specific returns such as LA Gross Receipts, Washington B&O, DC Ballpark Fee, and sales and use tax returns
• Perform ad hoc duties and special projects as assigned

• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Approximately one to three years of experience with U.S. partnership tax compliance, including federal and state filings
• Familiarity with Passthrough Entity Tax (PTET) filings and computation requirements
• Law firm or financial services background
• Big 4 public accounting experience
• A Master's degree in Accountancy or Taxation
