Financial Analyst, FP&A

McDermott Will & Schulte is a leading global law firm that emphasizes excellence, collaboration, and community. The Financial Analyst, FP&A prepares financial reports to assist practice group leaders and senior partners in understanding results and guiding business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare standard and ad hoc financial reports summarizing key performance indicators and profitability at the practice group, office, and attorney level
• Support the financial managers in design and preparation of the monthly financial reporting package; participate in monthly review calls with senior management and address follow-ups
• Configure specifications to accurately and efficiently extract data from the Firm’s financial reporting software
• Troubleshoot, investigate and resolve inquiries related to financial matters; collaborate with other analysts within team and cross-functionally to resolve issues
• Perform ongoing audits of financial system data to ensure data accuracy and compliance with financial reporting standard operating procedures
• Assist with the annual budgeting process and the analysis of lateral hires
• Support the maintenance of the Firm’s financial software and reporting tools
• Assist with quarterly and annual bank surveys

Skills

• Bachelor's degree
• 1-3 years of finance, accounting or consulting experience
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word)
• Familiarity with financial reporting software
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
• Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
• Ability to learn new concepts and skills quickly
• Ability to work collaboratively on a team
