We are looking for a highly motivated individual to help with both the development of a clinical diagnostic and to support researchers involved in one of the largest genomic projects in the world. This individual will work with a team of exceptionally competent scientists and engineers. We are a small company and are looking for someone who is adaptable and can succeed in many different roles. About you: This is a position for someone who wants to apply their skills to directly help cancer patients. You will develop new applications that connect cancer tests with large databases and machine learning to improve cancer diagnosis and treatment. You will continue to grow and learn cutting edge skills around machine learning, high performance computing and databases. Tasks:

  • Analysis of large-scale NGS data sets
  • Provide bioinformatics support to researchers involved in genomic projects
  • Troubleshoot and maintain bioinformatics pipelines

  • PhD. degree with 2+ years (or MS degree with 5+ years) of working experience in bioinformatics
  • Solid computational skills and a deep understanding of NGS data and its analysis
  • Familiarity with git version-control workflows
  • Extensive experience in NGS, systems biology and analysis of large-scale genomics datasets
  • Extensive experience with scientific computing, R or Python preferred
  • Experience with computational analysis, algorithm development, statistics, and machine learning
  • Strong UNIX/LINUX expertise required
  • Experience with NGS datasets and pipelines including pipeline testing, troubleshooting and optimization
  • Experience with cloud computing: AWS, Google Cloud
