Responsibilities

As a Ramp Agent (Customer Service Representative) at JFK International Airport, you'll be responsible for the following key tasks:

  • Safety and Security: Safely lift, load, unload, and transport baggage, mail, and cargo to and from aircraft, ensuring the safety and security of yourself and others.
  • Customer Service: Guide incoming and departing aircraft from the gate positions to ensure timely connections, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth travel experience for our passengers.
  • Cargo and Baggage Handling: Safeguard cargo, baggage, and mail from damage, loss, and weather, ensuring that all items are handled with care and attention to detail.
  • Ground Equipment Operation: Operate ground equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and tow tractors in congested areas, ensuring safe and efficient movement of cargo and baggage.
  • Baggage Scanning and Routing: Use baggage scanners and computers to ensure accurate routing of baggage to destinations, ensuring that all items are delivered to the correct location.

Requirements

To be successful as a Ramp Agent (Customer Service Representative) at JFK International Airport, you'll need to meet the following requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Age and Authorization: At least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States.
  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license.
