Social Media / Marketing Manager for Podcast

Job Title: Freelance Social Media Manager for Podcast Job Description: Are you passionate about social media and have a knack for engaging audiences? We are seeking a creative and motivated Freelance Social Media Manager to elevate our podcast’s online presence across various platforms, including X (Twitter), BlueSky, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. Future Hindsight is an award-winning weekly podcast that takes big ideas about civic life and democracy and turns them into action items for you and me. In each episode, in-depth conversations with citizen changemakers inspire civic action and hope. We believe citizen participation is fundamental to a thriving democracy. Responsibilities: - Assist in the development of a comprehensive social media strategy to grow our audience and increase engagement. - Create, curate, and schedule lively and engaging content that represents our show and the episode that is being released that week. - Implement already existing graphics, captions, and video snippets, as well as create new and updated content where needed. - Monitor and respond to audience interactions, fostering community engagement. - Stay updated on social media trends and best practices to keep our content fresh and relevant. Qualifications: - Strong understanding of social media platforms and their best practices. - Excellent writing and communication skills with a creative flair. - Experience managing social media accounts for brands or podcasts is a big plus. - Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud) is a plus. - Ability to work independently and meet weekly deadlines. This is a flexible position. We have weekly goals on social media revolving around the release of our episodes on Thursdays. This role pays $20/hour with an expected workload of 5 hours per week.
