<p>This is a remote position.</p> <h1><b>About the Opportunity</b><br></h1> <p><b>The HR Pro is recruiting on behalf of a Licensed Mortgage Associate</b> to join a high-performing, fully remote mortgage brokerage.<br></p> <p>This role supports a strong volume of inbound opportunities and combines <b>client-facing discovery with hands-on underwriting and deal structuring</b>.<br></p> <p>You will work within an established system - focusing on understanding client needs, structuring deals, and moving files forward efficiently as part of a collaborative team.<br></p> <p>This role requires a high level of <b>empathy and professionalism</b>, as many clients are navigating complex life transitions and require both guidance and clarity throughout the process.<br></p> While this is a fully remote position, <b>preference will be given to candidates based in Alberta, particularly the Edmonton area</b>.<br> ​<br> <h1>Key Responsibilities<br></h1> <h2>Client Discovery & Conversion<br></h2> <li>Respond to inbound leads in a timely and professional manner<br></li> <li>Conduct structured discovery calls to understand client needs and financial position<br></li> <li>Build rapport and establish trust with clients, particularly in sensitive or complex situations<br></li> <li><b>Confidently guide clients through next steps, including asking for commitment to proceed when appropriate</b><br></li> <h2><b>Underwriting & Deal Structuring</b><br></h2> <li>Review income, credit, and supporting documentation<br></li> <li>Assess deal viability and identify potential challenges early<br></li> <li>Independently <b>pre-underwrite and structure mortgage solutions</b> aligned with lender guidelines (primarily A and strong Alt-A)<br></li> <li>Present clear recommendations and guide clients through available options<br></li> <li>Collaborate with internal team members to strengthen and finalize submissions<br></li> <li>Prepare files for submission, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with lender requirements<br></li> <h2><b>File Management & Communication</b><br></h2> <li>Maintain organized and up-to-date client records in CRM systems<br></li> <li>Communicate clearly and consistently with clients throughout the process<br></li> <li>Set expectations and provide updates to ensure a smooth and predictable client experience<br></li> <li>Deliver both positive and challenging information with professionalism and empathy<br></li> <li>Ensure compliance with internal processes, lender guidelines, and regulatory requirements<br></li> <h2><b>How This Role is Structured</b><br></h2> <p>This position combines <b>client-facing discovery with hands-on underwriting and deal structuring</b> within a high-volume, team-based environment.<br></p> <p>You will be working with <b>inbound leads and an established client base within the brokerage</b>, guiding clients through the discovery and structuring process while following proven workflows and underwriting approaches.<br></p> The role is well-suited to someone who enjoys both <b>client interaction and the analytical side of mortgage underwriting</b>, and is comfortable working within a collaborative team model where files and client relationships are supported across the team.<br> <br> <br> <h3>Requirements</h3> <li>Active Mortgage Broker/Agent license in Canada (or ability to transfer to Alberta)<br></li> <li><b>3+ years of experience</b> in a mortgage brokerage or lending environment<br></li> <li>Demonstrated experience working directly with clients, with a focus on <b>building trust, guiding conversations, and managing relationships throughout the mortgage process</b><br></li> <li>Strong communication skills with a <b>calm, empathetic, and professional approach</b>, particularly when working with clients in sensitive or high-stress situations<br></li> <li>Experience supporting clients through <b>complex life events such as separation or divorce</b> is a strong asset<br></li> <li>Proven ability to <b>review, assess, and structure mortgage files</b>, with a focus on A lenders and strong alternative (Alt-A) solutions<br></li> <li>Strong understanding of <b>income analysis, credit review, and mortgage structuring fundamentals</b><br></li> <li>Comfortable guiding client conversations and <b>confidently asking for next steps or commitments</b>, using a consultative (non-sales-focused) approach<br></li> <li>Hands-on experience using a <b>CRM system (Zoho or similar)</b> to manage client communication, notes, and workflow<br></li> <li>Experience with <b>mortgage submission platforms</b> (e.g., Filogix, Velocity, Expert, Finmo or similar)<br></li> <li>Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through<br></li> <li>Able to manage multiple files in a <b>fast-paced, high-volume environment</b> while maintaining a high standard of client care<br></li> <li>Comfortable working within a <b>team-based environment</b>, supporting a shared client base rather than building an independent book of business<br></li> <br> <br>
